Want to volunteer for Irvington Winter Luminaria?
Irvington Winter Luminaria
Established in 1976, the Irvington Luminaria has been a delightful event that depicts the beauty and humble atmosphere of both Irvington and the holiday season.
On the Sunday before Christmas, the Luminaria is brought to life by hundreds of Irvington residents displaying thousands of candles in the early hours of night.
This years Irvington Winter Luminaria will be Sunday December 18th from 6pm – 9pm!!
All the details are still being worked out, but expect an update soon on when and where candles will be available. We will attempt to have them ready to sell shortly after Thanksgiving (sooner if we can!)
Block Captains: Block Captains are responsible for selling candles and bags to their neighbors from their home and collecting money. We will drop off the supplies at your home and collect $$ after the event.
Merchants: We are also looking for merchants that are interested in selling supplies. Again, we will drop off all supplies, signage for windows, and will collect $$ after the event.
Volunteers: Can’t sell candles, but still want to help? We are always looking for anyone that can assist. Making copies, delivering supplies, setting up candles and bags in public spaces, etc.
Groups: If you have a group that wants to do some community work, we will need volunteers to set up candles around Ellenberger Park and possibly other public space areas! The Historic Irvington Community Council will supply candles for public spaces, but we will need volunteers to set them up and tear down the next morning.
