<p><strong>Saturday, Oct 22nd:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Scholarship Pageant at the Irvington Presbyterian Church - This event is an annual beauty pageant that is used to crown the Irvington Halloween Festival Queen.  The top three contestants win educational scholarships.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Sunday, Oct 23rd:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Indianapolis Children’s Orchestra and Choir, Location TBD</li>
<li>Art Auction at Legend Cafe - This event is a live auction of the poster art that is submitted for the Poster Contest.  The event is a benefit for Irvington and East Side non-profit organizations.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Monday, Oct 24th:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Haunted Puppet Show at the Irving Theatre - This event is a family friendly (and spooky!) puppet show.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Tuesday, Oct 25th:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Movie Night at the Library - A children’s movie night at the Irvington Public Library.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Wednesday, Oct 26th:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Organ Concert at Our Lady of Lourdes</li>
<li>Movie Night at the Irving Theatre - A family friendly movie night at the Irving Theater.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Thursday, Oct 27th:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Spooky Stories at Irving Circle - This event is a night of spooky storytelling with Irvington’s favorite Edgar Allen Poe enthusiast, John Richard Luther II.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Friday, Oct 28th:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Roller Derby at Ellenberger Ice Rink - This event is a roller derby featuring the Circle City Derby Girls held at the Ellenberger Park ice rink.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Saturday, Oct 29th:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Pleasant Run Run - This event is a 5 Mile Run, 3 Mile Family Walk, and a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run through the beautiful winding tree-lined streets of Historic Irvington.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our friend Wayne Kimmell, a renowned Irvington artist, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 27th. Our condolences go out to his family. He was an amazing artist and a wonderful person. Wayne was the artist for the 2007 and 2009 Irvington Halloween Festival posters. He will be missed.</p>

<blockquote><p>Wayne M. Kimmell 70, of Indianapolis, passed away December 27, 2010. He was born February 5, 1940 to Louis and Jessie Southers Kimmell in Vincennes, IN. Wayne graduated from Manual High School in 1958 and attended Herron School of Art on a full tuition scholarship. He worked for H G Peters &amp; Co. as an artist and Director of Photography and then was self-employed as an architectural and conceptual designer. He was a well known and accomplished artist in the Irvington Area best known for his poster designs of historic Irvington landmarks. He was most proud to be commissioned by the Indiana State Museum Store to design their 2010 Christmas ornament and to have his art prints displayed and sold there. Wayne loved sports, especially watching his granddaughters&#8217;, coached Little League baseball and youth basketball, was an avid bass fisherman and a lifelong antique collector. Wayne met his wife Nancy Cox at Herron Art School and was married to her for over 48 years. She is left to cherish his memory along with their children; daughter, Jill (Fletcher) Daly, and sons, Jason and Josh (Staci) Kimmell; siblings, Peggy Hallam, Kay Shimp, Alice Madison, and Raymond Kimmell; mother, Jessie Kimmell; and his beloved grandchildren, Emma, Ellie and Quinn Daly, Morgan, Mallory, Meredith, Alli, Kate and Caroline Kimmell. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Kimmell. The KimmellDaly family wishes to thank everyone involved with the Methodist Hospital trauma team. Visitation will be at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 E. Washington St. Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Art Program for Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church, 5333 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46219.</p></blockquote>
